The Samaritans Become First Charity to Achieve BSI PAS 5222 Certification

Mark Bramah, the sponsor of BSI PAS 5222 Safeguarding Children in Out of School Settings, has been instrumental in the organisation’s mission. The Community Interest Company (CIC) is designed to assist organisations that lack financial resources in accessing expert safeguarding guidance.
“Our mission is to support organisations across the UK in achieving certification against the BSI PAS 5222:2024 standard, ensuring they uphold the highest safeguarding practices for children in out-of-school settings,” said Mark Bramah. “The introduction of this British Standard provides a structured, step-by-step approach to safeguarding, and we are committed to helping organisations implement its principles through education, auditing, training, and mentoring.”
Bramah Safeguarding CIC prioritises child protection over profit, reinvesting any surplus into the community and its mission. By working with organisations, including charities and those facing financial constraints, the CIC ensures they comply with PAS 5222:2024, making child safety a top priority.
The organisation’s goal is to create a self-sustaining model that drives continuous improvement in safeguarding practices, expanding the application of PAS 5222 across the UK. By offering training and certification support, Bramah Safeguarding CIC is setting a new benchmark for safeguarding standards in out-of-school settings.
